Bold Faith
This powerful message confronts us with a challenging question: do we possess bold faith, or are we settling for a comfortable, Sunday-only version of belief? Drawing from Matthew 17, we encounter the disciples' failure to heal a demon-possessed boy—a sobering reminder that proximity to Jesus doesn't automatically translate to power. The sermon distinguishes between three dimensions of faith: redemptive faith that saves us, responsive faith that celebrates what God has done, and bold faith that moves mountains and defies impossibility. What's striking is the concept of 'foothill faith'—the kind of trust we demonstrate not on spiritual mountaintops where glory is visible, but in the valleys where demons rage, children suffer, and we feel inadequate. The text reveals that our faith is measured, formed, and proven in these difficult places. Through the Word, through our willingness to trust God with our finances, and through seasons of warfare and struggle, our faith develops from a small measure into something formidable. The most liberating truth presented is that with God, nothing is impossible—no fences, no limits, no boundaries. This calls us to examine our lives honestly: What would we attempt if we truly believed there were no limits? Where would we go? Who would we become? Bold faith doesn't wait for circumstances to improve; it steps toward the water believing God will provide the bridge.
