On Purpose
This powerful message challenges us to discover and embrace our God-given purpose by examining the life of Jesus as our ultimate model. We're reminded that nothing in life happens randomly—God is a God of intentionality, and each of us has been placed on this earth 'on purpose' with a specific assignment. The sermon walks us through three critical phases of purpose: discovery, development, and defense. We learn that purpose is first perceived (Jesus knew at age 12 He was about His Father's business), then processed (He grew in wisdom for 18 years before His first miracle), and finally prepared through obedience and even suffering. The potter's house imagery from Jeremiah 18 beautifully illustrates how God must sometimes allow us to become 'disfigured' when we get out of alignment with His will, only to reshape us back into His purpose. What's particularly convicting is the reminder that growth always precedes greatness—we can't rush into public assignments without private preparation. Our pain often births our purpose, and the very struggles we've endured equip us to minister to others facing similar battles. This isn't just inspirational talk; it's a call to action that asks: who stays bound if we don't walk in our purpose? What single mother doesn't get help? What young person lacks an example?? Our obedience has eternal implications.
